Film Title, Typography, Film Poster and Music Supervision
The direction was a 70’s style font to coincide with themes of mushroom use, playfulness from the protagonist’s inner child and film’s central relationship between mother and daughter.
I was inspired by the typography used on record sleeve covers and books on psychedelic use of that era.
Playing with capitalisation case, spacing and weight, my focus was to capture a feminine tone by experimenting with softer cursive fonts or exaggerated rounded serifs.
Due to the centred perspective, a traditional psychedelic font was best while being mindful of legibility.
After a few iterations between gradients and use of neon pink, the mustard yellow was chosen to balance with the earth tones of the cinematography.
With my experience in sync on the label side, I found it refreshing to be on the music supervision side by exercising my licensing expertise and reconnecting with my current UK music contacts. Tracks that was licensed in the film are credited below:
